Position Description:


This Farm Credit Bank of Texas iSeries Designer/Developer position is chartered with planning, developing, and managing the software development or major enhancements to existing software that supports the bank’s strategic technology plan.  This position requires in-depth knowledge of the business concepts currently practiced by the Farm Credit Bank and its associations.

Day to Day Duties and Responsibilities:

Leadership and Management

  1. Works closely with other development staff to raise technology and business knowledge level.
  2. Works with business stakeholders and IT personnel to determine development strategy and standards.   
  3. Publishes a clear vision of the goals and objectives.  Has influence over others by virtue of knowledge, insight, and judgment brought to the job.

Technical

  1. Expertise in iSeries and RPG-ILE development and Microsoft SQL server.
  2. Designs systems flow and procedures to ensure optimum control and security of data, and efficient use of resources.
  3. Develops systems development standards.
  4. Designs enterprise data models.
  5. Designs data collection, processing and control procedures.
  6. Evaluates results of design and testing.
  7. Assists in systems testing and implementation.
  8. Provides information to fulfill project reporting requirements as assigned.
  9. Designs, codes, test and implements software enhancements to the loan accounting and dependent application systems based on current business needs.
  10. Activities and the results of such activities specifically assigned and agreed upon.


What You Bring to the Team:

Extensive experience in iSeries Systems Analysis and programming, with emphasis on Mortgage Accounting Practices with a minimum of eight (8) years’ experience in iSeries development practices, with emphasis on mortgage loan accounting knowledge and general accounting principles.

  • Works independently designing and developing new software products or major enhancements to existing software. 
  • Capable of leading large development teams in design of highly complex software systems. 
  • Acts as a high-level iSeries expert, addressing problems of systems integration and compatibility. 
  • Performs feasibility analysis on potential future projects related to the Cardinal Loan Accounting System and all dependent applications.
