Position Description:


The Sr. Communications Strategist will analyze the organization’s communication needs and create and implement communication plans that support organizational objectives. Serves as communications generalist, developing copy for all types of media.


Day to Day Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develops and applies various communication strategies to create an impression, raise awareness and encourage a preference and response by the intended audience.
  • Drafts communications for social media, web, publication, marketing, advertising and employee communications that further organizational priorities to increase engagement.
  • Reviews and edits messages to ensure they are clear, thorough, on-brand and seek to preserve the organization’s image.
  • Manages complex communication projects and programs.
  • Suggests ways to tailor messages and delivery channels based on the targeted audience.
  • Takes initiative to research and recommend better processes, approaches and technologies.
  • Measures effectiveness of specific communications.
  • Stays abreast of and implements communication best practices.
  • Proofreads, reviews and edits documents for accuracy and corrects grammatical, spelling and composition errors.

What You Bring to the Team:

Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, public relations or related field, and 10+ years in communications writing and project management. Experience managing social media preferred. Experience in banking or financial services and/or agriculture a plus.
