Position Description:

Responsible for managing and developing a portfolio of industry leading production and agribusiness relationships. The Sr. Loan Officer will work closely with internal partners to facilitate the development of new business relationships as well as develop prospects through lead lists and COIs. The Sr. Loan Officer will play a vital role in the growth and development of the commercial portfolio and market share.  The Sr. Loan Officer has appreciable latitude for decision making; and should demonstrate the requisite analytical skills to do so. Works under moderate supervision.

Day to Day Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serves a conduit for all product lines and matches client needs with appropriate products.
  • Develop new business by conducting marketing calls, involvement in community and industry functions, and providing timely service to customers.
  • Achieve credit quality goals including appropriate intervention measures to maintain the quality of the account.
  • Review approval or approve the extension of credit to certain accounts within delegated authority.
  • Ensure the portfolio administration and risk management of each client relationship is in compliance with established Bank credit policy, procedure and business strategy as well as commercial and regulatory guidelines. 
  • Negotiate credit arrangements and prepare credit memoranda and supporting documentation for presentation to the loan committee.
  • Communicate and promote the availability of other financially related services.
  • Provide financial advice and counsel to clients and prospective clients regarding trends and conditions of the business environment and general banking trends though bank approved sources. 

What You Bring to the Team:

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Agricultural Economics, or a related field, or equivalent experience and seven (7) years or more of progressively responsible banking or related agricultural lending experience. 

  • Demonstrates credit and analytical skills. 
  • Demonstrates knowledge of bank products, services, and bank operations. 
  • Demonstrates proficiency in organizing and prioritizing work to meet deadlines. 
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Exceptional persuasive and interpersonal skills.  
  • Demonstrates ability to be self-starter and show initiative. 
  • Demonstrates ability to manage time effectively to balance new & existing relationships to meet goals. 
  • Ability to prospect and network at various levels within a company. 
  • Must have the ability to perform basic office tasks and work in a typical office setting.
  • Employee will be sitting for extended periods of time and accomplishing work at a desk and work at a computer for an extended period of time.
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills to adequately convey ideas and work well with a team.
  • Work during established business hours and may require occasional weekend and/or evening work.
  • Travel required.
