Description/Job Summary

This position will be responsible for overseeing the business relationship, financial performance and related bank risk that may result from the debtor/creditor relationship with the Farm Credit Bank Texas District Associations and other financial institutions. VP Regional Manager will have direct responsibility for communications for several associations and assists with development of Bank’s loan participation portfolio with associations.


Essential Functions: As a trusted member of the commercial credit team, the candidate will be responsible for overseeing the business relationship, financial performance and related bank risk that may result from the debtor/creditor relationship with affiliates and will assist the vice president/unit manager with strategic planning and special projects. In addition, the successful candidate will play an active role in the Association Direct Lending Unit’s financial analysis and internal reporting on correspondent banking relationships and direct notes to affiliated lending institutions. This will include underwriting loan requests and customer annual reviews. In addition, the incumbent will support other department personnel in the underwriting and monitoring of large complex loans, develop industry analysis and peer group comparisons, and perform portfolio analysis and work on special projects as assigned. The position involves interaction with all levels of the bank and with affiliated lending institutions and correspondent banks.

Required Skills

Requirements: The bank is seeking an experienced relationship manager that can provide high level customer support and manage large banking relationships. The ideal candidate will solve complex business issues, using situational analysis and/or data. The candidate will manage a $1 billion to $5 billion wholesale lending portfolio.  The regional manager will consult with board and management teams on a variety of issues including:

  • Large and Complex Loans
  • Loan Portfolio Management
  • Strategic Initiatives
  • Performance Issues related to lending relationship


Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, agricultural economics or other related field and certification of advance professional training or advanced degree program preferred, plus a minimum of ten (10) years mid and upper level management experience. Experience should result in broad understanding of banking regulations, operations and credit practices.

Excellent interpersonal relations, public speaking, organizational, administrative and communication skills required. Successful candidate must be able to demonstrate strong analytical skills to evaluate institutional financial conditions, as well as, identify and prioritize areas for corrective action if required. Also needs knowledge of business practices in mortgage and commercial lending; including credit standards, real estate appraisal, internal controls, financial management, human resource management, public and member relations and marketing techniques. Leadership, strategic planning and goal setting skills are required. Successful candidate will be able to present related training material to associations. Position will require extensive travel.
